What is a Poweshift transmission ?

The Powershift gearbox developed by Ford is a dual-clutch design. The gearbox has six gears and two independent clutches. Powershift works similarly to Volkswagen DSG gearboxes, while driving, one of the clutches handles the even gears, while the other handles the odd gears. Both clutches are hydraulically operated. In smaller Ford vehicles, dry clutches controlled electrically by means of special motors or by an electromagnetic system were used. The gearbox is characterized by high quality, smooth shifting and reduced fuel consumption.

Powershift automatic gearbox service

Ford automatic Powershift gearboxes, unlike other constructions of this type, tolerate high revolutions on average. Sport driving mode and the so-called The kickdown has not been developed in the best way, so people who like fast driving will have to choose other designs. After reading the information, our diagnostician generates a final report with information about the gearbox, for example, the oil level or the general condition of the gearbox. All repairs are made based on the report generated as a result of the automatic box diagnostics.
